Fifth Prism Book Now Available
The Board of Directors of the Division on Developmental Disabilities
of the Council for Exceptional Children is pleased to announce
that the fifth volume in the Prism series is now
available. This fifth volume in the Prism series, entitled Transition
of Youth with Disabilities to Postsecondary Education ,
is edited by Robert A. Stodden and Stanley H. Zucker.
This latest book in the Prism series presents
an organized collection of peer-reviewed articles focusing upon
young people with intellectual disability as they prepare for and
transition to postsecondary education and other life-long learning
activities.
The overall intent is to provide the reader with a clear picture
of the current status of diverse approaches that seek to prepare
and transition youth with intellectual disabilities for postsecondary
education settings. The articles have been organized to (a) provide
the reader with an overview of postsecondary issues, (b) present
a range of approaches and models currently being used by persons
in the field, and (c) share current status data on contemporary
service delivery programs and their impact upon the quality of
post-school life for young persons with intellectual disabilities.
The Prism series is intended to provide practical
and issues-oriented information related to serving children and
youth with mental retardation/cognitive impairment, autism, and
associated developmental disabilities. Each of the five volumes
in the Prism series (Publications) is also available for purchase through
the CEC catalog (http://www.cec.sped.org/bk/catalog2/index.html).
